Notice your body…
How are you holding yourself right now?
No, do not shift.
Do not adjust.
Just allow it.
What is the shape of your body in this moment?
Do you feel extended—>chest lifted, ribs flared, lower back arched?
Do you feel flexed—>shoulders rounded, head forward, glutes clenched?
For me, it is often the first. For years, I bulldozed through my body’s signals. I faked confidence. I performed my way through life.
But over time, through years of nervous system and postural work, I have found myself landing more often in a space of neutrality. Still, the old patterns creep in when I am tired or anxious.
That old story returns:
“Push through. There is no time to feel. If you slow down, everything will fall apart.”
We each come from different stories, different nervous system templates. For me, I grew up with very young parents, children really, trying to raise a child.
My big emotions were too much for their undeveloped capacity. I learned early that there was not enough space for my feelings. So I stuffed them down, held them in, and moved on.
There are days when I do not feel amazing, and yet I still have to show up for my clients, previously booked workshops, etc. In the past, I would override my state with breathwork, energizing practices, and push through. Lately, I have been experimenting with something else:
Showing up as I am.
No performance.
No forced energy.
And every time, the sessions go better than I imagined. Because when I stop trying to be anything other than myself, I do not waste energy reshaping who I am. I simply am.
And from that place, spirit moves through me more freely. More easefully.
Neutrality does not mean staying stuck.
It means having the capacity to soften into presence, not force ourselves into fixes.
In posture, neutrality is the space where you are neither extended nor flexed.
You just are.
But mainstream posture cues, like shoulder blades back and chest up, often force people into positions that feel more like performance than support.
Once again, we bulldoze what is to get to what we think should be.
What if you explored:
Where do I feel most relaxed right now?
What version of upright actually feels supportive, not performative, for me?
Depending on your history, your conditioning, and your body’s story, relaxed might look very different from someone else’s.
In this week’s video, I am sharing one simple exercise to help you find your own center, your version of neutrality.

2/ The Beginning of
For the past five months,
and I poured hours into this project. We stayed up late talking through ideas, ran a big survey (some of you may have taken it), and kept shaping the project into something powerful. So powerful, in fact, that it started to intimidate us. Resistance crept in.If you’ve read The War of Art, you might remember what Steven Pressfield says about resistance. It shows up strongest when something really matters. Still, here we are. Our first post is now on HeLa Voice Substack.
If you’re in the process of unconditioning your voice, you might find something in it that speaks to where you are.
And stay tuned, so many more are dripping in.
3/ Discover your body’s story quiz is out
Over the past 3 months, I’ve gone through every client file, every posture pattern I’ve seen, every intuitive hit that proved true. I mapped them. Named them. And built something for you. This isn’t about “labeling” yourself. It’s about understanding the unique language your body speaks through the way you stand, sit, and move through life.
Thank you for joining me on the path of unconditioning,
