Most people believe that doing hundreds of crunches or sit ups will give them a strong core and protect them from lower back pain. But the truth is those exercises mostly target the rectus abdominis, the most surface level abdominal muscle.
True core strength and stability come from deeper layers most people never learn to activate. Beyond the surface, there are three key muscles, each one working deeper than the last:
• External obliques
• Internal obliques
• Transverse abdominals
That last one, the transverse abdominals, is especially important. It wraps around your torso like a corset and connects your ribcage to your pelvic floor. It is the foundation for true support.
In the final week of the 4 week posture reset series, we focus on core stability, what it really means and how to access it through your breath and alignment. In this video, you will learn:
Why crunches don’t actually build true core strength
How your core is designed to work as a system
Powerful exercises to restore stability and build real support from within
👁️ What your body has been trying to tell you?
If you want to go deeper and explore your body’s story, take this quiz to see what patterns show up for you!
The way we hold ourselves matters. Not just because of how it looks. But because it shapes how we live, how we relate, and what we’re capable of imagining. Let your body speak. Let it interrupt the collective war and offer you a new way of being entirely.
