I met Molly Caro May last year on The Gritmaker podcast, hosted by my friend Mouna Laaragat .
We clicked right away. I felt a deep connection to Molly’s energy and the beautiful work she’s doing in the world. So when she started her podcast, The Modern Mammal, and invited me on, I immediately said yes.
I knew we would have an amazing time because Molly and I can talk for hours. In this conversation, we talked about the body, healing, identity, the nervous system, and what it means to stay human in a world that constantly pulls us away from ourselves.
We also explored something I deeply believe:
Your posture is not just how you stand. It’s how your body has learned to hold you.
Your posture holds the hours you spend sitting, the injuries you’ve pushed through, and the tension you barely notice anymore. It can also reflect how you’ve learned to adapt to your family, culture, work, and environment.
This doesn’t mean pain is “all in your head.” it reminds us that our body is a whole system. Your muscles, breath, nervous system, history, and surroundings are connected.
We’re often taught to look for the faulty part: the tight hip, weak core, or rounded shoulders. Sometimes that helps. But looking at each part in isolation can miss the relationships shaping how your whole body feels and moves.
I also share how I navigate routines and movement, and what it means to uncondition ourselves, even from the things considered “good” for us.

After the podcast, I offered Molly a Body Check-in session. Here is what she shared:

And if this conversation has you wondering what your own posture is holding, and you’re ready to explore it in a supportive space, I’d love to work with you.
